Course takeover 2026

Course update from Ryan Rainsforth

Member survey

09/12/2025

Hello everyone, I wanted to send out a short update this week. As of the 8th of December, I have started working full-time for the club, although not yet on the golf course itself. For those who didn’t meet me at the AGM, I’d like to share a little bit about myself. I’ve worked in the greenkeeping industry since I was 16, with experience in Norway, Sweden and the UK. In Scotland, I’ve worked at Callander Golf Club, Gleneagles and Caldwell Golf Club. My first tasks as we move toward taking full control of the course will include: Finalising the purchase of major machinery Meeting with the council Setting budgets Walking the course and becoming more familiar with it Creating short- and long-term development plans Preparing health and safety documents for the department Interviewing future staff (Assistant Greenkeeper & Apprentice Greenkeeper) There is still plenty to be done before we officially take over the course on Sunday, 1st February 2026. From that date, we will begin a new era for the club—one that will allow us to move forward towards a long, successful future for both the club and the community. I hope you’ll join us and support us on this journey. I am have created member survey to gather your thoughts on where improvements or changes are most needed on the course. Your feedback will be important in helping us prioritise the work. https://forms.gle/wcoPRHQ8mZ53HKKK8 (Please note that all future changes will depend on cost, practicality and available manpower.) I will send another letter in February once we have taken over the course. This will include more detailed plans for the future, an introduction to new staff members, and a possible date/time for members to visit the sheds to see the investment into the machinery so far and we hoping in future, we can get more to add to our fleet to improve the course. Thank you for your continued support and looking forward to the future Kind regards, Ryan Rainsforth Head Greenkeeper
